Dr. Joe Pujol, Ed.D., FACSM (Eta Omicron '81);
I did not ever plan to go to NLU, in fact I hardly even knew it existed until one of my older
brothers enrolled there. I remember when he came back home the first time wearing his ΠΚΑ
shirt. After taking some ribbing from one of my other brothers he spoke about the fraternity
and the quality of people in the group and, of course, the fun they had. Having been in high
school when Animal House came out I had a picture in my mind about fraternities and this began
to sound like a lot of fun.
During my senior year of high school I made a
trip to Monroe to learn more about the school. In the meantime I was able to meet the guys in
the fraternity. They were as advertised, a close knit group of men who were fun to be around
and also knew how to enjoy themselves. (more)

IMPACT OF FRATERNITIES ON EDUCATION
Research1 has proven that fraternity membership helps keep students in college and compels them
toward graduation at a rate higher than non-Fraternity men.
Fraternity membership increases student retention by 28%.
70% of Fraternity members graduate college, as opposed to 50% of non-Fraternity students.
Fraternity-affiliated students are more likely to be involved on campus.
